Community Visioning

The Development Corporation established the Valley Development Group Roundtable in 2004 which drove notable progress in the community over the course of 13 years. Beginning in the summer of 2017, the Community Visioning: Living Life Here initiative began meeting to revitalize the already existing group and continue to drive progress in our community. Over 40 community members took part in 5 large group meetings to establish a strong vision for the future of Valley City and the Sheyenne Valley.

Members continue to attend subcommittee meetings to construct and carry out plans that will bring their vision to life. From the Quality of Life group's goals to open an art gallery
down town and utilize the community's green space, to the Leadership and Volunteerism's idea to create a volunteer network and the Healthcare Group's mission to establish a community-wide Health in All Policy, many refreshing ideas have been brought forward and numerous projects are underway. Specific topic areas include:

  • Business Development
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Quality of Life
  • Housing and Infrastructure
  • Services and Public Information
  • Leadership and Volunteerism

We encourage community members who are interested in any of these areas to get involved with this initiative! Please contact Trinity at 701-845-1891 or vdgoffice@hellovalley.com with any questions!
